I’m an avid outdoorsman, fishing and hunting has always been a way of life for me. Through out my time in the outdoors, much like anyone else, I’ve had my trophy mounted. Every time being let down because of the poor workmanship of the taxidermist I had selected. In May of 2013 I decided to stop in and talk to Mike Buroker. At that time he was located off Birch Street in Eau Claire. He showed me what he was working on and helped me understand the process. I could tell immediately this wasn’t just a hobby for Mike. This was a passion for him and no mount he worked on would leave unless it was up to his high standards. Since that day, I’ve never taken my trophy to any other taxidermist. Mike takes the time to personalize his mounts to what the customer wants. In my opinion he doesn’t charge enough for the quality of his work. Any chance I get I refer fellow sportsman to him to mount their trophy. I don’t know of one single person this far that can say anything but remarkable things when their mounts are finished and picked up. Mike Buroker has been our family’s taxidermist since 1983. It started with my dad’s thirteen point buck, which looks great nearly 40 years later. I have also been fortunate to have taken two of my bow bucks to Mike. When my son was ten years old and harvested his first buck…there was no question who we wanted to preserve this hunting memory.
